It was great to be able to work with her on one of my drawings, and I would love to work with her again at some point along with doing more collabs with other artists!įor anyone keeping track of my artwork so far, this is my first collaboration after I came out as transgender, my third time doing collaboration art with just one other person (having previously done line work for two of ameth18’s Star Fox posts last year with Fox dating Katt and Falco dating Krystal ), and my 12th collab overall after a my style/your style piece with Esthefania2018’s OC Lassie and the pieces I did for some of the Sonic and Nintendo groups I’m part of, namely Cream the Rabbit and Cheese the Chao, Summer Blaze, Silver the Hedgehog, Wave the Swallow, Jet the Hawk, Bat-Winged Hedgehog, Winter Ray, and Sonic and Blaze: Lavender. After having drawn her portion and seeing mine, she let me be the one to post this, which I was already planning to do anyway as someone who HAS made gore drawings before (having started with blood drawings since my 2017 paper drawing based on DIMLIM’s Aharewata before getting progressively gorier since 2019 with Flippy from Happy Tree Friends tossing a knife in the air with it landing on Cuddles my next one, as I’ll announce now, will take place during a Mortal Kombat-like fight between Sonic and Shadow, releasing before the end of this year). Having had several ideas of Nine Inch Nails songs for me to turn into Gumball drawings (including March of the Pigs, Sin, Head Like a Hole, Getting Smaller, and Everyday is Exactly the Same) before coming across this status update, I reached out to her to bringing this particular idea to life, with her drawing Nicole Watterson in complete shock and despair seeing her son Gumball (drawn by me) as the total mess he turned himself into.

Then came a status update I saw by fellow Deviant Art user SheDemonAndrea (some may remember when I drew her OC Andrea Watterson last March), who talked about wanting to do collabs with other artists. It’s the literal point of no return that, to keep what I’ve talked about many times in the past short, I had feared doing to myself during my time being raised in the toxic environment I grew up in from a lot of the people around me back then, including stepfamily members. There are two popular beliefs on what the song is about, suicide or drugs, and I thought about using the former concept for a fourth gore Gumball drawing following my gore/mech hybrid with Sonic (itself also based on a Nine Inch Nails song, Isn’t Everyone with another band called HEALTH). The first of two Gumball/Nicole drawings I have this week (the second, releasing on Friday, being a preview to the Cartoon Network/Sega crossover I’ve been working on in the past few months ), this came about from me taking a relisten to Nine Inch Nails’s 1994 masterpiece album The Downward Spiral (along with other albums with songs that gave me several new drawing ideas for both Gumball and Sonic), specifically the closing track (as you can see from the lyrics at the top right) very simply titled Hurt (which is a song so god-tier legendary that it was covered eight years later by Johnny Cash for his final album released during his lifetime, American IV: The Man Comes Around!). Now comes, as I said my next drawing would be in my latest status update, the goriest drawing I have made yet! I’ve made a handful of gore drawings before (three of which also have Gumball, with the two I made where he was attacked by a mysterious monster and one with him merging with Sonic into a gore/mech hybrid), but DAMN did I go the extra mile, more so than the last two Gumball drawings I posted that were also sad and depressing!
